In 2020, Showmax was given broadcasting exclusivity to Somizi and Mohale’s wedding. The four-part wedding special gave South Africans a front-row seat to one of the most historic, heartfelt weddings in South African celebrity history.
Duma Collective provided the brand with Social Media & Influencers services. The campaign aimed to drive tune-in ratings by utilizing macro-influencers who were guests at the wedding. With the use of the hashtag #SomhaleUnion, we kicked off the campaign and carried it through to the end.
The influencers posted pre-event content and drove their followers to tune-in throughout the eight activation weeks. The created content comprised of images converted into GIFs, self-shot selfie videos of the after-event wrap-up.
