Rapper, singer, dancer, actor and aspiring model DotCom was born on the 29th of May 1988 in the Eastern Cape city of East London. He is one of 4 children, him being the only boy. Having grown up in the township of Mdanstane, DotCom was constantly surrounded by the then booming sounds of Kwaito music and 90’s Hip-Hop. From a young age he had a passion for music, even joining his primary school choir.

With both his parents being high school and church conductors, it was inevitable that he would fall in love with music. In 2001 his family took the giant leap of moving to the big city of Johannesburg for work reasons, this would only come as a blessing as it would expose him to all of the amazing sounds and cultures that he used to watch on T.V whilst growing up.

Even though he was deeply embedded in sports having gone to a prominent all boys school music and dance was his calling and this would become apparent when he started dancing for the then big Hip-Hop group “Jozi” immediately after high school. Drawing him even closer to the studio and the music recording environment.

  • His first single, “Get Mine, was chart topping as no.1 on 5fm Hip Hop Power Nights, hosted by DJ C-live
  • Get Mine” was on high rotation on Yfm, UJ fm, Bush radio and Trance Africa radio
  • In 2011, he opened for International renowned rappers/artists Busta Rhymes and Fat Joe performances, at the Zar Fest Zimbabwe
  • In 2013, His mixtape, M.O.E.T (Music Over Every Thing, hosted by DJ C-Live) was released, and received over 6000 downloads
  • In 2014 he signed to Sony Music Africa, where he released the hit single “Izapha” under this stable featuring Cassper Nyovest, which made the top 20 most played songs in South Africa, and the music video reached over 89k views on Youtube
  • “Izapha” The music Video was on the Top10 play list on Music Channels such as MTV Africa, Channel O Crispy fresh, Vuzu and SABC1
  • He featured on Dj Speedsta’s hit single “Bad Chick” alongside Da Les
  • In 2015, he released his second single with Showlove music called “The One”, which was on rotation on radio stations, in 2015, in the same year it took the number 1 spot on Yfm’s RnB chart
  • He then collaborated on the virbrant R&B hit ‘Pretty Black Rose’ by DJ Radix ft Stilo Magolide
  • In 2016, he released his highly anticipated R&B project titled ‘Love & Liquor’ that has been making waves in the industry
  • Competed at the Hip Hop World Championships in Los Angeles 2007
  • Chosen to represent South Africa in 2009 at the Hip Hop World Championships in Las Vegas
  • Overall winner at Masters of Rhythm – Broadcast on Vuzu
  • In 2010 he danced at the opening ceremony of the FIFA SOCCER WORLD CUP
  • In 2010 he starred in South Africa’s first dance movie, “Zion”, which was released in 2014 on SABC1
  • In 2016 he graced the cosmopolitan 2016 calendar as Mr. August, which is coincidentally Womens month.
  • Also the cover of ‘Zkiphani’ magazine in the month of February.
